More about us

We provide a challenging work environment with the opportunity to learn from industry leaders. Our culture supports equal opportunity, work-life balance and an ongoing contribution to the community.

We believe that diversity is a business imperative. We strive to attract and retain the best people and in order to do so we must recruit across the spectrum of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion and culture. For our teams to excel, each member must feel confident that they are contributing in an inclusive environment that supports diversity and encourages input from all perspectives.

Learning and Development

We provide ongoing learning and development programs - from customised programs for new starters to executive training for senior management. The objective of our learning strategies is to support career development and performance management.  We also provide technical training where required.

Career Development

We recognise that development initiatives should support each stage of team members’ careers and encourage a culture of ownership over career direction. Individuals are given full responsibility for their own learning and the firm provides the framework and tools to support that development including consistent performance management system, continuing professional development and Online Career Mentor Programs.

Our Affinity Networks designed to support team members include:

  • GLaM (Gays, Lesbians and Mates) Network
  • Working Parents Network
  • Women's Network

Who we’re looking for

We are interested in receiving applications from outstanding people who can make a contribution to our firm.  We pride ourselves in offering employees a challenging and dynamic environment within a culture that respects and promotes diversity. Team members have access to well-supported networks and the opportunity to learn from talented colleagues. Your career with the firm will be largely self-driven and the emphasis will be to take responsibility for your career development early. There is also a unique opportunity for potential equity ownership in the firm.

Goldman Sachs’ working environment promotes personal growth and development and opportunities for a long and rewarding career path are provided.

Being LGBT, working here

The financial services industry in Australia has lagged behind other industries in recognising the importance of diversity generally and of LGBTI issues specifically. Goldman Sachs prides itself on being a leader in this area in our industry, domestically and globally through our Goldman Sachs network. GLaM (Gays Lesbians and Mates), the firm’s Australian LGBTI network, was formed in March 2009 and currently has 10 LGBTI identifying members forming the core management committee, plus 4 non-identifying members. The charter of the network aligns naturally with the broader diversity objectives of the firm, which is encapsulated in our global business principles.

We offer our people the opportunity to move ahead more rapidly than is possible at most other places. Advancement depends on merit, and we have yet to find the limits to the responsibility our best people are able to assume. For us to be successful, our men and women must reflect the diversity of the communities and cultures in which we operate. That means we must attract, retain and motivate people from many backgrounds and perspectives. Being diverse is not optional; it is what we must be.
